Every Act of Kindness Makes a Difference | GDC 2026 Stray Animal Care Initiative

At Glen Dimplex China (GDC), we believe that a caring community not only supports people, but also shows compassion for the living beings that share this planet with us.

Earlier this summer, the GDC volunteer team travelled more than two hours to visit the new location of a local stray animal rescue shelter. This annual commitment represents another meaningful chapter of GDC’s GLOW Global Volunteering and Sustainability Initiative.

15 Volunteers, One Shared Commitment

Over 15 GDC colleagues dedicated their weekend to supporting the rescue shelter. Although they were not professional animal caregivers, they brought patience, compassion, and a willingness to help:

• Preparing fresh meals for the animals, carefully portioning and feeding them;

• Grooming long-haired animals and removing tangled fur;

• Cleaning cages and surrounding areas to create a cleaner and more comfortable environment;

• Most importantly, sitting down beside the animals, gently calling their names, offering comfort, and spending time with those who had experienced fear and hardship.

These actions may seem simple, but for many abandoned and previously injured animals, every gentle touch and every kind word becomes a bridge to rebuilding their trust in humans.

A Donation of Food, A Commitment of Care

In addition to hands-on support, GDC donated a supply of pet food to help reduce the shelter’s daily operating pressure.

The shelter manager shared that the number of rescued animals continues to grow, while available resources and volunteers remain limited.

“Your visit not only provided them with food, but also gave them the happiness of being seen and cared for.”

At GDC, we understand that genuine care is not a one-time gesture, but a commitment built through continuous attention and meaningful support. That is why we continue this initiative year after year.

Sustainability Goes Beyond Environmental Protection

At GDC, sustainability has never been limited to energy efficiency, emission reduction, or green manufacturing. It also represents our attitude toward life itself:

• Caring for those in need;

• Taking responsibility;

• Respecting the dignity of every living being.

Through supporting local stray animal rescue efforts, we hope to raise greater awareness of companion animal welfare and encourage more people to move from being observers to becoming participants.

Because every small act of kindness has the potential to become a turning point in the life of an animal.
